We are working to achieve the target values until 2020 under the ZDHC (Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals) Program, which Greenpeace is the pioneer and supplier of the brands. In this context, our objectives; to control the chemicals used, to prevent the emergence of priority banned chemicals in production processes and finally to prevent these banned chemicals in the finished product, waste water, sludge and flue gas emissions.
In order to gather the right people around the table and develop standards and tools, firstly, in 2016-2017, Chemical and Environmental Management Teams were established under the “Clean Production Team ”. These teams work to follow the paths and traces left by the chemicals used in the plant throughout the life of the plant. 14 priority chemical groups subject to the prohibition of use listed in ZDHC MRSL were recognized and introduced to our chemical and dyestuff suppliers. In 2018-2019 period, Dok-San Textile became a member of ZDHC GATEWAY. Our wastewater reports have been publishing at ZDHC GATEWAY.
The World Wildlife Fund (WWF) and South Aegean Development Agency (GEKA) brought together textile manufacturers, global textile brands and financial institutions in the region to protect the Büyük Menderes River.
